      One clear commonality between Jewish refugees and Syrian refugees is that they were not allowed into the U.S. for the same concept reason.

      In contrast to the WWII refugees, Syrian refugees wanted to come to the U.S. for war purposes.

    Compare: 1.Similarly, the Syrian refugees also are discriminated against. 2. The Jews and Syrians are similar because they both had/have to leave where they live.

    Contrast:On the other hand, Jews weren't trying to carry out attacks on civilians unlike ISIS, a group of Muslims.
